A Lasagna Story

This next week we are having Charley’s cousin Mark and his family come and visit with us on their way up to Indiana. I am going to once again make lasagna. Now the reason I choose lasagna a lot of the time is because I want to spend more time with my company and not all my time in the kitchen. Well, I had this same idea a couple of weeks ago when Nathan Meredith and the Justice family came for the weekend. So, Friday before they came I put the lasagna together so all I would have to do is take it out of the fridge and put it in the oven. Then I got this idea. Why not put it in the oven while we are gone (about 3 hours) on warm. Then when we get back all we have to do is turn on the broiler and brown the cheese on top. OK, so most of you are already saying “you didn’t”. But yes, I did. I came home took it out of the oven and it was a very strange golden brown color and dry, dry, dry. Of course, everyone said it was fine, but I didn’t see anyone go back for seconds. Later James did admit it was pretty bad. But then followed up by saying “but usually your lasagna is really good”.

Sunday Brenda made us lasagna and reminded us of how good it could be, if you just cook it right. Anyway, moral of the story is… You cannot slow cook lasagna!

Also, music practice will be tonight at 7:00.

Sunday night we will have a special musical treat. Charley’s cousin Mark Dibler and his family will be here to sing for us. You really do not want to miss this. They are are very talented group. Try your best to be back on Sunday night and invite someone who loves good singing.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and hope to see you Sunday.

I also like to do lasagna when I have people over because it is soooo easy. I was actually going to fix it Saturday for Katie & Jamie, but they have something else they have to do. But, I will remember not to slow cook it. haha :) Look forward to the music on Sunday, as always.

I am looking forward to having special singing in the Church. I love having the extra singing in our Church and it is extra special when we have guests. There are some people that will say they do not like all of the singing but I strongly feel that the music ministry is very important and acts as a plow that prepares our hearts for the Word to be planted. I look forward to our special guests.

Sorry about the fiasco with your lasagna. Maybe if you had baked it, then covered it with tinfoil and left it on warm, it might have worked. I dont know. Ronnie and I are looking forward to Sundays message, and the special service Sunday night. Drema
