As most of you are reading this, we are more than likely traveling. Headed down to SC. Please say a prayer for us. I will continue to stay in touch while we are gone so keep the comments coming. Also, pray for Gloria Meadows who had a brother pass away this week.
I know I been a little sappy lately about my family but I just can’t help it. I have the best husband and children in the world. And since I’m the one writing this, I get to be the one to say it. I really do believe we need to tell those we love how important they are to us as often as we can. We only have them a little while here on this earth.
This is one of my favorite recent pictures. You may not be interested but I’ll show it anyway. Have you noticed the best pictures are those we’re not posing for?

As many of you know, I was stricken with a toothache following a routine root canal on Monday. Since about 7:00pm on Monday night when the numbing wore off, I have been in a great deal of pain. For those of you who have never had a toothache, count your blessings. For those of you who have had one, you know the feeling of wanting to jump off of cliff because you have taken all you can take. Well that is where I have been since Monday and unfortunately, last night wasn’t much better. I found myself calling out to God in the middle of the night, please take this pain from me. At one point, I even asked Him why He was mad at me because He wouln’t help me. I was so desperate for Him to fix me and take away my pain that I was feeling a little betrayed because He wasn’t fixing my problem.  About 3:00am this morning, I was sitting in my bed reading some scripture about healing, “Wonder why”.Â
I told this story to say this. Although, my toothache was trivial compared to Jesus’ pain and suffering, it did remind me that He never did complain about His pain on the cross. And even though He can relate to our aches and pains, he doesn’t disregard them. He does care about our pain and suffering. He focuses on our pain today just as He did when He was dying for us. Jesus willingly suffered for us. Â
I also learned that that there is scripture related to teeth in the Bible so He does relate to toothaches. Psalm 3:7 “… thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.” Well I know I am a child of God so I don’t fit this category of ungodly so He must care when my teeth hurt.   Jesus wants us to bring all of our needs to Him including our toothaches. I think we miss out on a lot when we don’t ask him for the little things. Â
Have a wonderful day!
For those of you who came here this morning expecting to hear from Brenda, I’m afraid you will be disappointed. She is not feeling well this morning due to a problem with a tooth. Remember her in your prayers today. Also , continue to remember Gradie Lamb.
Let me share with you a verse I read this morning.
Psalm 89:1
I wll sing of the LORD’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.
Let me challenge you today to share with your children a time in your life when God was faithful in your life. Not only will this be a help to your children, but will serve as a reminder of God’s faithfulness to you. If you’d like to share it with us, we’d love to hear it.
Good Morning Everyone,
I won’t tell you everything that went wrong yesterday morning, but of course, some of it was obvious. (Sorry Angie and Amy) So, lets dwell on the good. Thanks to all of you who had apart in the music yesterday. We are so thankful for those who give their time to serve our Lord and their church through the music.
Our super hero yesterday was another woman, Rahab. Again, I am amazed at how God takes even the worst of us and will still use us. There’s hope for us all!
We also kicked of our Super hero series for kids last night. We learned that super heroes have endurance. We should never get tired of doing good. I love this program. We got some good comments from the kids and the adults. Thanks to all the kids who came and participated.
Watch out for tomorrow’s post. Brenda will be posting every Tuesday for us. She always has something good.
Again, let me say what a privilege it is to be in this church. This last year has been amazing. I believe we have the best church around and I know we have the best people. God bless every one of you. Hope you all have a great week.
Of the many things I get in my email this is one of my favorites. I think it was Jeanne that sent this to me and I loved it. I wanted to share it with you and would love to hear if any of these things stand out to you.
I believe -
…that just because two people argue, it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other.
And just because they don’t argue, it doesn’t mean they do.
I believe -
..that we don’t have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
I believe -
..that no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I believe -
….that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
I believe -
….that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life
I believe -
…that it’s taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
I believe –
….that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I believe -
…that you can keep going long after you think you can’t.
I believe -
…that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I believe -
…that either you control your attitude or it controls you
I believe -
..That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences
I believe -
…that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I believe -
….that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time
I believe -
….that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you’re down, will be the ones to help you get back up.
I believe -
….that sometimes when I’m angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn’t give me the right to be cruel.
I believe -
….that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.
I believe -
….that it isn’t always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
I believe -
….that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn’t stop for your grief
I believe -
…that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become
I believe -
….that you shouldn’t be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
I believe -
..that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don’t even know you.
I believe -
…that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you – you will find the strength to help.
I believe -
….that credentials on the wall do not make you a
decent human being.
I believe -
…. that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon
I believe -
…that two people can look at the very same thing and see something totally different
OK, so I know many of you will have absolutely no sympathy for me but let me do a little wining here. Two of my three children are out of town right now and I miss them terribly. I don’t know why their leaving has left me so sad but it sure has. At one point in my life I would have given anything for the peace and quiet if they were away for a while. But not now. My how things change.
Well just imagine what it’s like for our heavenly father when we go days, weeks, or even months and years when we don’t talk to him or have any desire to spend time with Him. Don’t forget him today. Spend a little time with your Lord each and every day. Don’t leave Him missing his child.

Some of you know what it feels like to watch your child drive away knowing it will be months before you see them again. I will experience that again today. It is not an easy thing. I know I’m being selfish by wanting all my children to be close to me all the time but unfortunately, that can’t happen. Children grow up and go their own way. This is a reminder to us to enjoy the time we have with them. And to use the time we have with them to teach them to love God and others. I am so proud of all three of my children and wanted to share that fact with you. Above is a picture of a little family outing we had yesterday. What a blessing to have family and there’s nothing better than spending time with them.
Good Morning,Â
Let’s talk about Heroes for just a moment. Charley has been preaching a series of messages about heroes and as we know the word alone brings about many thoughts.  For children, it may be Superman or Batman but usually for adults the term is much deeper. The reality is; there are many Heroes beyond our childhood imagination.  We may have someone that we know personally or not, or possibly be one to someone else. With our Nations Birthday just around the corner, we are definitely going to be saturated with the thoughts of Heroes and how we define them. I want to challenge each of you to think about who your hero is and why.  For me, I have many and can explain them all. Who is your Hero?Â
Did you know that there is a new hero in town? Do you know who it is? Come join us on Sunday and find out.Â
Well we went with plan C yesterday in the service. Hopefully you didn’t notice but we had a lot of things go wrong. Two of the planned specials did not work out but in the end all was well. You cannot go wrong when Pastor Harmon sings “til the storm passes by” and that was really great. Then who would have thought that we would hear a Hank Williams song. But then, if you know Charley at all you weren’t surprised. Anyway, it was a great service as usual.
We continued our Heroes series with Abraham and again learned some interesting things about this awesome man.
Don’t forget we will be starting our “elevate” series for the kids Sunday night. This series is called “Heroes of Mega City”. If you know some one who might be interested be sure to invite them. I am so excited about it.
One more thing you may not have known is we had some one saved this morning. It was Felicia’s daughter Julieanne. We are so thrilled to hear that some else has come to know our Lord Jesus.
God bless all you father’s as you continue to lead your family in the ways of God. I am especially thankful for my own Dad who was a real Jewel to me. He was a precious man of God that I will always honor for his spiritual leadership in our home. I too am thankful for the man who is the father of my children. He has consistantly been a wonderful dad and an amazing husband who loves me in spite of my many faults. Here are some of our pictures and some from the Father’s Day service.
If you have not had the chance to brag on you husband or dad, it not too late. We’d love to hear it.
