This is what it looked liked outside Mercer Christian Acadamy this morning for the prayer time at “See you at the Pole”. What a blessed sight.
Wednesday, September 26th is “See you at the Pole”Â
I hate that I let this day slip up on me without realizing it. Yesterday, I was asking about it and talking with Jaime about it and wham it is tomorrow. Tomorrow is a big day in schools all across the nation. The kids will gather around their flag pole and pray to God for many different things. It is their way of expressing how important prayer is in our daily lives and how we should depend more on God. I know most of you have heard of it and if you haven’t, please take a little time today to research it a little and let’s all support this big day. Next year, if I can remember early enough, we will rally for it. Let’s all encourage our children to be seen at the Pole.Â
One year, it was me, Jaime, my sister, and her daughter only, but I have no doubt that we made a statement to others that we don’t realize. Do any of you have any memories of this day in the past you would like to share? Â
That’s what we heard in Sunday’s sermon yesterday. Just a little more about what it will be like when we get there. It’s hard not to get excited when we think about it. The choir sang “Won’t it be Wonderful there?”. Congregations were “Mansion over the Hilltop” and “Sweet By and By”. Angie did a great job on “Jesus take the wheel”. How many of us have been there where we throw our hand up and give it to Jesus. The good thing is, that is what He wants us to do. Summer sang her first solo with Tender Heart”. I believe she meant every word.
We had several visitors again this week. Remember to do your share in inviting those who don’t have a church home or don’t know the Lord.
Standing on the mountain top
looking down, flying high and
living good.
Life is easy I say, everything
is going my way, money in my
pocket, time to play, so I say,
living in style, going my own way.
But it only lasted a little while.
My fall was hard and fast, down
and down I went, down in the
valley, money all spent.
Down to my knees I went, head
bent low, no where to go. I
cried, dear Jesus, help me with
my load.
I’m going back up on my knees,
His love is sweeter on this road.
Jesus is helping with my load.

I apologize for posting so late in the day. It has been a heartbreaking day in the nursing home. Please pray for the people that I serve on a daily basis. They are someone’s spouses, parent’s, brothers, sisters, and sometimes children. I thank God that he has allowed me the opportunity to work with them and their families.Â
Just wanted to remind everyone about tomorrow night and pray for us who are working with our youth while you also pray for our youth.  I wanted to thank those who have already donated for snacks for the kids. We appreciate all of the donations and if you haven’t donated and would like to, please let us know.Â
Have a great rest of the day.Â
Our service started off yesterday with “Standing on the Promises” and “In the Garden” for the congregation. Then the choir backed Julia on “I know my Redeemer Lives”. That is such a powerful song and Julia did a great job on it. Then we ended the song service with a special from Brenda and Amy. Both were wonderful. These are such talented ladies. Then Pastor Charley preached a message on how we can know we are saved. Then Julia ended it with a beautiful song, “Come to Jesus”. Thanks to everyone who had a part. For those who did not get to be there, we really missed you. (We missed you a lot, Ronnie and Drema.)
I hope you all have a great week. We will see you Wednesday for the kids night. Last week we had about 50 so come prepared to stay busy.
Children’s Church Sunday night- We will continue on the adventure with Aaron and Jaime.
SS classes- invite someone who doesn’t come.
Wednesday Night youth program- Last week we had 57.
Sunday Morning’s message- Can you loose your salvation?
Continue to pray for Carl Bradley, Wanda Harmon, and several urgent unspoken requests
If there are any others. please put them in the comment section.
Today is a day of reflection for many. Some are remembering lost loved ones and are going through their mourning phase all over again. Others, like myself, didn’t know anyone lost on that day but my heart hurts for others. As we reflect, let’s put God in the center of our thoughts and he will heal our hearts.
Let’ s remember our Country and the service men and women who are fighting today, who fought yesterday and who will be next tomorrow and the days to come. Our Country needs our Savior.Â
II Chronicles 7:14Â Â If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.Â
