My church family is so important to me, I truly don’t know what I would do with you all. We have so many needs in our church and I am sure there are many that we don’t even know about. Because of that let’s all agree together that we will pray daily for our church family. Here are few of the needs I know about but it is definitely not all inclusive.
Pray for Pastor Charley and Phyllis who are in SC because Phyllis’s grandmother died. I am sure it is bittersweet for them but I am sure they hurt. Also pray for safety as they travel.
We also want to remember Nancy Lamb who is leaving tonight for Tampa and is scheduled for surgery tomorrow at 11am. Praise the Lord, she will get some relief. Still pray that she can have that new kind of surgery.
Pastor Harmon and Wanda, hopefull we will find out how his appointment went in Charlottesville.
Lawrence Conner is also in need of prayer. We want him to recover quickly.
Let’s not forget Levoy’s family members that she mentioned in church. It amazes me about her Brother-in-law that had stents placed.
Ronnie Coburn has been fighting a battle, please pray for him.
Pauline Harvey was at church and it was so good to see her.
Jack Whittaker is an amazing man and he too has fought some battles.
I know there are many many others and I have a list wrote down at home but unfortunately I can not remember them all off the top of my head. So, please feel free to add to the list in the comment section.
I also wouldl like for everyone to pray about our Youth program on Wednesday night. Pray that we can build on it and watch it blossom this winter.
I hope everyone has a good rest of the week.
Ladies, don’t forget tonight is ladies fellowship. I believe our speaker will be Brenda Beckner. We would love to have some of you ladies that don’t usually get to come.
See ya tonight!
It seems to me that people (including Christians) do not always recognize miracles at face value. Often we prayer for a miracle but when it happens we have other reasons to justify it. I have often said that when miracles happen, people want to explain it away and exclude God from it. It is hard to explain so let me share with you this story. I have been following a story on 95.9 “DC and the family” about a 5 year old boy out west who had 4 malignant tumors on his spine and had been receiving treatment. This past week during a hosp/treatment visit, the family was told that the tumors were gone. YES, I said GONE!!! The father told how many people had been praying for him and for a miracle and he received just that. DC, Griff, and the father,Officer Wilson, all said “Praise God” and told that this was the power of Prayer. Now there will be people who want to say that there is some medical reasoning as to why this occured. They will second guess everything and may even say that the treatment just worked but don’t you think we need to give God all the Glory and accept the miracle for what it is–A Miracle. Yes, we know that God also performs miracles through people, such as Doctors and I don’t want to discount that, but my heart jumps for joy when God performs miracles and the Doctors can’t explain it. We know God heals physically, mentally, psychosocially, and spiritually, but often times we want to explain it away instead of recognizing it as A Miracle from God. I just wanted to share this because it was truly remarkable listening to these people give God and God alone all of the recognition for this healing. It was also very inspiring to me in many ways. So I just want to say that Miracles do Happen. God is so good!!!
