Hi Ladies! I wanted to remind you of the new SS series we will start this Sunday. It is called “Critical Decisions”. This is a study that I believe will be a great help to us in our everyday lives. We just finished up the study on Esther and learned a lot of new things. I believe this will be no different. WE will look at such topics as Choosing God’s Will, Wisdom in Relationships, and Forgiveness. Be sure to invite your friends or if you don’t already attend this class, you are welome to come this week. I pray this will be a help to you as we learn this together.
Just a reminder: There are a few new posts on Charley’s blog (My thoughts between Sermons). If you want to leave a comment you will need to leave it here. For some reason we do not get the ones left on his blog.

This next week we are having Charley’s cousin Mark and his family come and visit with us on their way up to Indiana. I am going to once again make lasagna. Now the reason I choose lasagna a lot of the time is because I want to spend more time with my company and not all my time in the kitchen. Well, I had this same idea a couple of weeks ago when Nathan Meredith and the Justice family came for the weekend. So, Friday before they came I put the lasagna together so all I would have to do is take it out of the fridge and put it in the oven. Then I got this idea. Why not put it in the oven while we are gone (about 3 hours) on warm. Then when we get back all we have to do is turn on the broiler and brown the cheese on top. OK, so most of you are already saying “you didn’t”. But yes, I did. I came home took it out of the oven and it was a very strange golden brown color and dry, dry, dry. Of course, everyone said it was fine, but I didn’t see anyone go back for seconds. Later James did admit it was pretty bad. But then followed up by saying “but usually your lasagna is really good”.

Sunday Brenda made us lasagna and reminded us of how good it could be, if you just cook it right. Anyway, moral of the story is… You cannot slow cook lasagna!

Also, music practice will be tonight at 7:00.

Sunday night we will have a special musical treat. Charley’s cousin Mark Dibler and his family will be here to sing for us. You really do not want to miss this. They are are very talented group. Try your best to be back on Sunday night and invite someone who loves good singing.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and hope to see you Sunday.

At this time of year, we celebrate motherhood. We honor our Moms for all that they have meant to us, what they have taught us, and the person we have become as a result of their example. I want to take just a minute to say that it is a privilege to be a mom. And not just any old mom but the mother of 3 very special children. If I could have searched the world over and chosen any 3 children, I would have chosen Nathan, James and Julia. Just so they know they are so very special to me and I am so proud of the people they have become.

So here’s your chance. Do you want to brag on your kids? Tell us what’s special to you about being a mother.

You know ladies I was thinking this morning about how God brought us to this place and how, if it had been up to me, I probably never would have moved from the very comfortable spot I was in. But through a series of circumstances, he made it clear to me that I should. But still it took Him actually moving me. My son made the statement to me that he needed God to light a fire under his rear to make him move. So did I. Thank God he did. I hate to think of the blessings I would have missed out on if I had not followed his leading to this place. Now I know we tend to get real comfortable in the place we are in. It could be a home, a job, a group of friends or even our family. But there is no better place to be than right where God wants us even if it means a big change for us. Some thing totally different than what we have been used to. We need to be willing to see the signs when god shows them to us. Don’t make God have to light a fire under our rear before we see it.

Synonyms for confrontation

Prov. 10:17    reproof
Prov.  17:10   rebuke
Prov.   27:2    wounds
Prov.   29:17 correct
Heb. 12:10-11discipline

Definition-a truthful face-to-face encounter with someone we love regarding a matter that needs attention or correction.

About confrontation
It should always build up rather than tear down.
When possible, it should be done in private.

How to confront
1.	State the issue tactfully and directly.
2.	Provide example without exaggerating.
3.	Suggest a plan of action.
4.	Reassure your friend of your concern, compassion and care throughout the entire process.

When to Confront (Matt. 16:21-23)
1.	When people become a stumbling block to you or others.
2.	When people have set their minds on man’s interest not God’s.

Why confront (Luke 22:31-34)
1.	To strengthen areas of vulnerability
2.	To warn against overconfidence and blind spots

How did Jesus confront? (Luke22: 47-62)
1.	an abrupt passionate command v.51
2.	A thought provoking question v.52
3.	An analytical statement v.53
4.	a mere look v. 61

The next time you need to confront:
Be sure you have a good reason
Be Specific
Be Sensitive

I got up early one morning and rushed into the day;
I had so much to accomplish that I did not have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me, and heavier came each task.
“Why doesn’t God help me?” I wondered. He answered, “You didn’t ask.”

I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on, gray and bleak;
I wondered why God didn’t show me. He said, “But you didn’t seek.”

I tried to come into God’s presence; I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided, “My child, you didn’t knock.”

I woke up early this morning, and paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accomplish, that I had to take time to pray.

Author Unknown

I know it’s only Tuesday, but don’t forget in to start praying for our service Sunday. Ask God to prepare the hearts of those who will be there, including our own. I think we would be amazed at what God can do if we only ask.
.

Honestly, I have never seen anything like this. I told Julia on the way to school this morning that this is another first for us. The day she goes back to school after spring break, the snow is falling so thick we can hardly believe it. Then there is the “white Easter”.

What a great service we had yesterday. No, it was not perfect. But the Spirit of God was so sweet in that service. And a big thank you to Amy who did an absolutly beautiful job on that song. It was wonderful to see all the new faces. I’m sure we will continue to see new faces as long as we remember that ‘our mission is fishin”. Hopefully, this is the last snow we will see this spring. I’m ready for the warm weather.

Please pray for us as we travel this week and as we get our house ready to sell again. Also pray that it sells quickly. I would love for that to be one less thing for us to have to be concerned about. Our real estate lady just called as I am writing this and said the house doesn’t look too bad. So maybe we won’t have a lot of work to do.

Remember, we want to hear from you. I will be keeping up with you through this blog this week so keep in touch. Have a wonderful day.
