FYI Friday
-This Sunday is our homecoming at Mt. Jackson. Pastor John Houghton will be our special speaker. We are so looking forward to what he has for us. Don’t forget, there will be no SS and our main service will start at 10:30 am.
-The kids will begin a new Sunday night series next Sunday night. We have a great time over in the youth building so if you haven’t brought your kids out yet, this is a great time to start. Our new theme is a western theme so grab your your cowboy hat and boots and come on out and join us.
-Bob Lane’s aunt Ada Rorrer passed away this week. The viewing will be tonight and the funeral will be Saturday at the Memorial Funeral Directory in Princeton.
-Let me take just a minute to say a big thanks to Brenda for all her hard work on the Harvest Festival. A lot of work goes in to the organization of something like this. She did a great job as did all those who participated.
-Tuesday will be our special November/Thanksgiving Ladies fellowship. I will be speaking at this one and would love to have you all come out and be with us for an evening of getting to know the other ladies a little better.

Pictures
The pictures from the pastor appreciation fellowship are ready. You can look at them by clicking on the church photos link on the right side of this page.
God really blessed us with at great service yesterday. Everyone did a great job to make sure we had good music and we heard another wonderful message from Pastor Rice.
We are looking forward to next week. Our homecoming service will be special because we will have a former assistant from Mt. Jackson, Pastor John Houghton.

Toot Toot
Let’s Toot the Pastor’s horn for a minute. October is Pastor Appreciation Month and I want to take this opportunity to thank our Pastors for all they do everyday to guide us through life. I can not imagine walking in their shoes for one day.  Pastor Harmon, has served our congregation for many years and has now passed the Mt Jackson torch to Pastor Charley.  Pastor Charley, I know your job is often a thankless job and I also know that you always give God the credit for anything that it done for his Glory.   But right now, I want to thank you for all of your service to my family. You and Phyllis have been there through a lot of trials in my family and we are so thankful to God for you.  You give of your time so willingly and I want you to know that it doesn’t go unnoticed. So I am just going to say “Thank you”. And, thank you for being our Pastor. We love you.Â
I want to encourage everyone regardless of where you worship to let your Pastor know that they are appreciated.Â

See you at the Pole
Wednesday, September 26th is “See you at the Pole”Â
I hate that I let this day slip up on me without realizing it. Yesterday, I was asking about it and talking with Jaime about it and wham it is tomorrow. Tomorrow is a big day in schools all across the nation. The kids will gather around their flag pole and pray to God for many different things. It is their way of expressing how important prayer is in our daily lives and how we should depend more on God. I know most of you have heard of it and if you haven’t, please take a little time today to research it a little and let’s all support this big day. Next year, if I can remember early enough, we will rally for it. Let’s all encourage our children to be seen at the Pole.Â
One year, it was me, Jaime, my sister, and her daughter only, but I have no doubt that we made a statement to others that we don’t realize. Do any of you have any memories of this day in the past you would like to share? Â
