Yesterday Brenda posted about how important our children are and how much they need to be taught and mentored. Tonight at 6:30 we will have a meeting to discuss future programs and our vision for our youth. We would love as much input as possible, so let me encourage as many as possible to be there. Even if you have never worked with the youth before. Don’t forget, we will be having hot dogs so you won’t have to worry about supper. We’re looking forward to seeing you tonight.
Looking ahead: James is planning a trip to Dollywood in the near future. Watch for details.
-This Sunday the superhero will be Mark.
-The ladies SS class will finish up the book of Esther.
-You’re going to hear some great music.
-The kids will meet a new superhero Sunday night.
-Vacation Bible School begins 1 week from Sunday.
-I still need your testimonials.
-This Sunday is our 1 year anniversary at Mt. Jackson.
-There are lots of oppurtunitiees to get involved. Don’t pass it up. Pray and ask God where He would have you serve.
-I gave Julia a haircut yesterday and she looks really cute. I’m thinking about that same haircut for me.
-I really miss you James.
-Mt. Jackson is a really great church. I hope you all have a great weekend and we’ll see you Sunday.
Hello Everyone. I hope you are all having a great week. We’ve been a little slack on the blogging this week. Hopefully we will get back on schedule next week.
Just a quick reminder that tonight is music practice for anyone who can come. We did not have choir practice Sunday night so we will go over it tonight.
Also to the ladies, we will be studying the third chapter of Esther in Sunday school. Do your best to be there. We are having such a wonderful time in this class. If you don’t already come, feel free to start this Sunday. We would love to have you all.
Be sure to go over to Charley’s blog today too. He has a new post you’ll want to read I’m sure. Also, I hope to have a few new pictures on the church photos link today so check that too.
I pray you all have a wonderful holiday weekend and we look forward to seeing you tonight or Sunday.
This next week we are having Charley’s cousin Mark and his family come and visit with us on their way up to Indiana. I am going to once again make lasagna. Now the reason I choose lasagna a lot of the time is because I want to spend more time with my company and not all my time in the kitchen. Well, I had this same idea a couple of weeks ago when Nathan Meredith and the Justice family came for the weekend. So, Friday before they came I put the lasagna together so all I would have to do is take it out of the fridge and put it in the oven. Then I got this idea. Why not put it in the oven while we are gone (about 3 hours) on warm. Then when we get back all we have to do is turn on the broiler and brown the cheese on top. OK, so most of you are already saying “you didn’tâ€. But yes, I did. I came home took it out of the oven and it was a very strange golden brown color and dry, dry, dry. Of course, everyone said it was fine, but I didn’t see anyone go back for seconds. Later James did admit it was pretty bad. But then followed up by saying “but usually your lasagna is really goodâ€.
Sunday Brenda made us lasagna and reminded us of how good it could be, if you just cook it right. Anyway, moral of the story is… You cannot slow cook lasagna!
Also, music practice will be tonight at 7:00.
Sunday night we will have a special musical treat. Charley’s cousin Mark Dibler and his family will be here to sing for us. You really do not want to miss this. They are are very talented group. Try your best to be back on Sunday night and invite someone who loves good singing.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and hope to see you Sunday.
The funeral for Nancy Rice will be Friday at 11:00 at the church. The visitation will be tonight from 6-9 at the Memorial Funeral Home. Remember to pray for that family in their loss.
Music practice will be tonight at 7:00 at the church.
Don’t forget to invite someone to church this Sunday and pray that God will bless the service. I think it’s going to be good.
Hope you all have a wonderful day and we will see you tonight.
Just wanted to let everyone know we will be home about noon Friday. We are looking forward to getting back home.
I will have the SS notes ready sometime late Friday. Look over them and be thinking on this subject. I also hope to get the pictures from the Easter Egg Hunt posted sometime today too.
Hope you all have had a great week. Don’t forget to pray for the service Sunday.
Thank you all for your input on our blog this week. I feel like I stayed in touch with you even though I was 5 hours away. Keep the comments coming. I love hearing from you.
Be sure to go over www.chasrice.com and read Pastor Charley’s Blog if you get a chance.
Dear Sunday School Ladies,
I pray you are all having a wonderful week and that God is blessing.
I want to remind everyone of the new series we started this Sunday. It is called “Christ at the Crossroadsâ€. It is a study of how Jesus handled some of the same situations we are faced with today. I believe this study will (more…)
