A Poem by Bill Vance

I heard the music
and I knew the words
but I couldn’t sing them.
I saw the way but I
wouldn’t go.
He told me to follow
but still I wouldn’t go.
He reached out for me
and I turned away.
He cried out my name
but I wouldn’t listen.
I saw the tears shed
for me, I felt the shame,
still I would not accept
His sweet holy name.
To think that I might still
be that way today if the
devil got his way
but someone loved me enough
to pray and tell me about Jesus.
Thank you Father for sending my
brother who knew how to pray
the sinner’s prayer.

That is beautiful. Isn’t it amazing how clear that appears once we accept Jesus and we then wonder why we didn’t accept him long before we did.

As I read the comment a witness of love, I am reminded of the scripture Romans10: 14-15. How shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? and how shall they preach except they be sent. How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things.
