Jerry Falwell

Filed under: General — admin @ 11:52 am

Jerry Falwell was a great man. There is no denying that God used him to accomplish big things. But there were many who did not like him. Some said he was too conservative while some said he was too liberal. But when he passed away recently, everyone was lining up to say how much they respected him for standing strong for what he believes.

Christians can learn a valuable lesson from this. Why do we expect all pastors to agree with us on the smallest of issues? And when they don’t agree with us we are quick to make mountains out of molehills. Even if we disagree on minor issues, let’s show our respects to great Christians before they are gone. Maybe they will put in a good word for us when they get to heaven. :-)

Teens will be meeting tonight in the gym at 7. There will be pizza…enough said.

  1. Many thought that Mr. Falwell was too political. I can remember when Jack Hyles told Jerry that he needed to get back to preaching which was his calling. That’s not to say that I agree or disagree with Mr. Falwell, but we need to realize that our nation will not be saved from the statehouse or the Whitehouse. This country will be saved by turning back to God, and by christians living a godly life in front of the world, and let them see Christ in us the Hope of glory.
