God DOES care!!!

As many of you know, I was stricken with a toothache following a routine root canal on Monday.  Since about 7:00pm on Monday night when the numbing wore off, I have been in a great deal of pain.  For those of you who have never had a toothache, count your blessings.  For those of you who have had one, you know the feeling of wanting to jump off of cliff because you have taken all you can take.  Well that is where I have been since Monday and unfortunately, last night wasn’t much better.  I found myself calling out to God in the middle of the night, please take this pain from me.  At one point, I even asked Him why He was mad at me because He wouln’t help me.  I was so desperate for Him to fix me and take away my pain that I was feeling a little betrayed  because He wasn’t fixing my problem.   About 3:00am this morning, I was sitting in my bed reading some scripture about healing,  “Wonder why”.

I told this story to say this.  Although, my toothache was trivial compared to Jesus’ pain and suffering, it did remind me that He never did complain about His pain on the cross.  And even though He can relate to our aches and pains, he doesn’t disregard them.  He does care about our pain and suffering.  He focuses on our pain today just as He did when He was dying for us. Jesus willingly suffered for us.

I also learned that that there is scripture related to teeth in the Bible so He does relate to toothaches.  Psalm 3:7 “… thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.”  Well I know I am a child of God so I don’t fit this category of ungodly so He must care when my teeth hurt.   Jesus wants us to bring all of our needs to Him including our toothaches.  I think we miss out on a lot when we don’t ask him for the little things.

Have a wonderful day!

I’m sorry you are still dealing with this. That really can be one of the worst pains you can have.
The Bible does say “In all thy ways acknowlege Him”. That means even in the way of pain.

I just got a chance to read this one, and I can really relate to mouth pain. I think it is the worst of all. I put off going to the dentist as long as I can because I do not do well with mouth pain. I recently had my first root canal, and I must say, it was alot less painful than expected, although it hurt and I took pain pills. But, it hurt less than the pain I was having before the root canal. The Lord allows pain sometimes so that we will focus on Him more. We can get so self-sufficient that we sometimes forget Him in the little things. He remembers us in our afflictions, whether big or small. He is a GREAT GOD.
